The Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) authority on Sunday (Sep 3) decided not to operate buses on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway for now.

BRTC chairman Md Tazul Islam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said, "We are not running BRTC busses for now. I will inspect the ramps of the expressway and decide when to operate.” 

BRTC chairman in the afternoon said, "We have decided to operate 79 buses on the elevated expressway initially. The fare will be charged based on the existing rates.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Dhaka Elevated Expressway on Saturday at 3:30pm.
