SHERPUR: An army person was killed in a road accident at Satpakia on Sherpur-Jamalpur highway on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Alal Uddin, 35, son of Sukur Ali of Manikkura village under Jhenaigati upazila of the district.

Sources said that Alal was going to his workplace at Rangpur cantonment on a CNG-run auto rickshaw around 8:30am. A rashly driven truck knocked the CNG down when it reached in Satpakia area, leaving him dead on the spot.

Sherpur Thana ASI Uttam Kumar confirmed the matter to banglanews.
