The Border Guard Bangladesh authorities today (November 13) said they deployed 189 platoons of the force across the country, including 25 in Dhaka and adjacent districts, to maintain law and order situation.
GBG public relations officer Shariful Islam confirmed the matter.
He said that 189 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across the country today, including 25 platoons in Dhaka and surrounding districts to maintain the law and order situation.
Besides, sufficient number of BGB platoons are on standby, he added.
Focusing on the upcoming elections, BNP-Jamaat and their like-minded parties are trying to occupy the streets through agitations demanding the resignation of the current government and a non-partisan caretaker government.
In the present phase of the agitation, incidents of torching vehicles are taking place almost every day. Buses were set on fire in several areas of Dhaka city including Tejgaon, Nabunbazar, Savar and its surroundings last night.
In this situation, BGB is working along with other forces to maintain law and order situation.
