Some 154 arson attacks took places across the country from October 28 to November 13, according to fire service.
A press release issued by the fire service in this regard disclosed the information today (November 14).
According to press release, the Fire Service and Civil Defence was informed about 154 arson attacks across the country in the last 17 days. Of the total attacks, 116 occurred in Dhaka division, including 82 in the capital city.
Fire service statistics showed that five persons were injured and two firefighters were assaulted while discharging duties.
During the period, a total of 94 buses, three microbuses, two private cars, eight motorcycles, 13 trucks, eight covered vans, one ambulance, two pickup vans and two CNG-run auto rickshaws, human hauler, a leguna, a vehicle of fire service and a police car were set on fire.
Apart from these, five BNP offices, one Awami League office, one police box, one councillor office, two electricity offices, one bus counter and two showrooms were burnt during the period.
A total of 93 arson attacks were reported at night while the number was 61 in daytime.
The fire service statistics showed that the highest number of arson attacks (29) was taken place on October 28.
