CHITTAGONG: Police held 54 Malaysia-bound people from Malipara area of Roypura Union under Anwara Upazila of the district on Friday morning.

Sources said that a gang of brokers gathered those people in a cyclone shelter center in the area.

Being informed from locals, police conducted drive in the area and picked up them who were trying to go to Malayisa illegally through sea route but the brokers fled the scene.”

Anwara Thana Officer-in-Charge Humaiyun Kabir confirmed the matter to banglanews.
