PIROJPUR: The movements of all types of vehicles from Pirojpur to Dhaka have been halted by the Transport Owners Association from Friday night apprehending subversive acts.

Earlier, buses from the district to the capital city remained stopped since Friday morning while launches from the evening.

As a result, road and waterways link of the district with Dhaka halted completely that pushed hundreds of passengers of southern part of the country into immense sufferings.

BNP alleged that police stopped two launches --Agradut plus and Ranodut—owned by party leader in Bhandaria from leaving the district for Dhaka. Beside, the law enforcers held five BNP men after raiding in several launches.  

Pirojpur police super SM Akhtaruzzamn told banglanews that the administration did not obstruct vehicle movement but launch and transport owners may suspend the transportation for security concern.
