BHOLA: At least 15 shops were gutted in a devastating fire at Dular Bazar under Char Fashion upazila in the district early Saturday.

Sources said that the fire originated from electric short circuit at around 3:30am.

On information, two fire fighting units of Char Fashion fire service rushed to the spot and doused the fire after an hour efforts.

Confirming the matter, Char Fashion Thana Officer-in-Charge Abul Bashar and fire service station officer Sirajul Haque Mridha told banglanews, “The fire originated from a stationary shop and soon engulfed the adjacent shops.”

The shop owners claimed that the extent of loss from the fire could go up Tk30 lakhs.
