2 trains sent back; 125 held

DHAKA: Police on Saturday morning stopped Dhaka-bound Padma and Nilsagar express trains at Taingail and sent both the trains back to Rajshahi and Nilfamari to avert sabotage.

Some 125 passengers were also nabbed suspecting militants and for not having tickets.

Police officer Shahadul Islam told banglanews that police took position at Gharinda station getting information that militants were going to Dhaka on the trains.

“We held 125 from the trains and we will send back the trains as we apprehend sabotage,” he added.

Allude to, opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has called upon 18-party leaders and activists to come Dhaka to make “March for democracy” successful.
