DHAKA: All types of communication of the capital city with other parts of the country halted as buses, launches and train movement from districts remained stopped ahead of the 18-party alliance program ‘March for democracy’ on December 29.

In Rangpur, Apprehending subversive activities, road, river even train services from Rangpur division to Dhaka has been suspended.
In Barisal, the launch owners stopped the Dhaka-bound launch services since Friday night.
Barisal Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-8 Lieutenant Farid confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Besides, Barisal Bus Owners Association president and Metropolitan Sromik League Convener Aftab Ahmed said that fearing vandalism and sabotage, bus owners stopped their bus service.
In Bhola, Launch and Local BNP leader alleged that the district administration stopped all types of launch services.
Any launch from District Sadar, Borhanuddin, Tajmuddin, Lalmohan and Charfashion Upazila did not leave for Dhaka.
In Rajshahi, Apprehending subversive activities, the bus service from Rajshahi to Dhaka became stopped since Friday night.
Rajshahi Motor Sromik Union president Kamal Hossain Robi told banglanews, “Following the central decision of federation, bus services on Rajshahi-Dhaka route declared halted from Friday night to Sunday evening.”
In Sylhet, undeclared restriction has imposed on the bus services in the district.
But Sylhet Metropolitan police officials told banglanews that no restriction was imposed to anyone in this regard.
In Jhenaidah, the Dhaka-bound bus services declared stopped for an indefinite period.
Various Paribahan agent told banglanews that according to the order of higher authority, bus service has been stopped from Friday noon.
In Khulna, from Friday night no buses left the district for Dhaka which created sufferings for passengers.
In Bogra, the bus services remained normal on Friday but from Saturday morning the road communication of the district with Dhaka was stopped.
In Comilla, the Dhaka-bound bus service remained stopped from Friday night.
In Chandpur, any bus or water vessels did not leave the district for Dhaka which made immense sufferings to passengers.
In Laxmipur, from Saturday morning Dhaka-bound bus remained stopped for undeclared restriction.
Laxmipur Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge Lokman Hossain told banglanews, “We don’t know the cause why the bus service remained stopped.”
In Satkhira, the bus service from the district to Dhaka remained stopped from Friday night.
District Bus-Minibus Owners Association president Saiful Islam told banglanews, “The bus service remained closed following the death of a worker.”
On the other hand, Police on Saturday morning stopped Dhaka-bound Padma and Nilsagar express trains at Taingail and sent both the trains back to Rajshahi and Nilfamari to avert sabotage.
Tangail Sadar police held 125 passengers from two Dhaka-bound trains.
