DHAKA: The customs authority seized 1.25 Kilogram gold from a flight of Emirates Airlines at Shahjalal International Airport on Monday night.

Meanwhile, passenger Rafiq was detained for carrying the smuggled gold.

Sources said that custom authority searched the bag carrying by Rafiq while passengers were crossing airport green channel at around 8:00pm after completing all formality and found the melted gold bar.

Airport Customs Assistant Wazed Ali confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The seized gold is worth about Tk 50 lakhs, he added.
