A Dhaka court on Wednesday (January 10) showed BNP leader Mohammad Nobi Ullah Nobi arrested and placed him on three-day remand in a case filed over setting fire to Benapole Express train in Gopibagh area of the capital on January 5.
Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Julhash Uddin passed the order.
The court ordered after the investigation officer of the case produced Dhaka south city unit BNP joint convener Nobi and Juba Dal activist Monsur Alam before the court and pleaded to place them on 10-day remand.
Earlier, on January 9, investigation officer and officer-in-charge of Dhaka Railway Police Station Ferdaus Ahammed Biswas had pleaded to show the duo arrested in the case.
Meanwhile, miscreants reportedly set fire to the Benapole Express in Gopibagh area of the capital at around 9pm on January 5.
Four passengers, including two women, died in the incident.
On January 6, SM Nurul Islam, guard of the train, filed the case.
