Newly elected Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali on Sunday (January 14) said it will take time to address Bangladesh's economy which is facing difficulties.
He made the remark while interacting with journalists at his office in the capital.
The minister said, “In order to maintain commodity prices throughout Ramadan, we need time. Finance ministry alone cannot do this; we also need support of Ministry of Commerce. Everything will not get sorted overnight.”
“Steps will be taken to halt money laundering. Value of Taka dropped, will have to work on this matter. Give us some time,” he added.
