MEHERPUR: Supporters of winning candidate in the 10th parliamentary polls vandalized Gangni upazila Awami League General Secretary’s house in the district on Monday noon.   

Sources said that supporters of newly elected independent lawmaker Mokbul Hossain vandalized house of his rival candidate Upazila Awami League General Secretary MA Khalek around 1:00pm.

On information, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6 rushed to the spot and opened 35-round blank fire to bring the situation under control. Later they held 10 people in this connection, sources added.
