Bangladesh received inward remittances worth over $45.54 crore in the first five days of April ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims.
A report published by Bangladesh Bank today (April 8) said on average, more than $9.10 crore was sent to the country before Eid.
The country received $1.99 billion in remittances in March, registering a 1.23% year-on-year decrease, though the inflow generally marks a rise ahead of Eid.
Data by the Bankers say $400-500 million in remittances came in every week last March, meaning more has come in the first five days of April.
