500 shelters, 290 medical teams ready in Ctg to face Cyclone Remal 

The District Disaster Management Committee in Chattogram has prepared 500 shelters and 290 medical teams to face the impact of Cyclone Remal. 

This decision was made during an emergency meeting last night.

The Fire Service and Civil Defense have canceled all leave for officials and employees from nine stations, mobilizing 270 personnel for immediate response. 

A special control room has been set up at Agrabad Fire Service Station in the port city.

According to the Chattogram district administration, around 500 shelters are being prepared, 290 medical teams have been formed, and all executive officers, local union chairpersons, and members in the coastal areas are on high alert.

The Civil Surgeon's Office has assigned a medical team to each union, five teams to each upazila health complex, and five standby teams at Chattogram General Hospital. 

District Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Elias Chowdhury said 200 teams are at the union level, 75 teams across 15 upazila health complexes, nine teams at urban dispensaries, one team for school health, and five teams at the general hospital have been formed to address the cyclone's impact. 

All doctors, officers, and employees under the Civil Surgeon's Office have been instructed to remain at their posts, and an emergency control room has been opened.
