A youth was killed and another was injured in an explosion at a residential building in capital’s Badda on Thursday (May 30) morning.
The explosion took place in the morning on the ground floor of a three-storey building at No. 4 DIT Road in Badda.
The diseased was identified as Solayman while the injured was Shanta Begum.
Shanta was admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn And Plastic Surgery with 35% of burn injuries, according to physician.
Syed Monirul islam, senior station officer of Baridhara Fire Station confirmed the matter.
Initially, the explosion is believed to have occurred from a gas cylinder leakage.
However, the fire service said that the cause could be confirmed by the investigation.
Two units of Baridhara fire station worked on the spot.
