Jhenaidah District Awami League General Secretary Saidul Karim Mintu has been arrested by Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) in connection with the murder of MP Md. Anwarul Azim Anar.

Mintu was arrested from capital’s Dhanmondi area on Tuesday (June 11) afternoon.

According to DB, Saidul Karim Mintu has been detained for quizzing as he was in contact with prime suspect Aktaruzzaman Shaheen.

Harun-or-Rashid, Head of Intelligence Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said earlier that many leaders of Awami League in Jhenaidah are under surveillance in connection with this murder.
