Coordinators withdraw all anti-discrimination movement programmes

The Anti-discrimination Student Movement, the platform of students that initiated the movement demanding reformation of the government job quota system, has withdrawn its programme.

In a message signed by six top coordinators of the platform on Sunday night, they announced the withdrawal of their programme.

“We strongly demand the government to reopen the educational institutions quickly to ensure a fair atmosphere for education,” they stated.

They mentioned that their primary demand for rational reformation of the quota system has already been met by the government.

The organisation leaders also highlighted that many people have been killed and injured, and various other violent incidents, including setting fires at state establishments, have occurred in the situation arising from the quota reformation movement.

“We strongly condemn these undesirable incidents and demand a speedy trial after a fair investigation,” the statement added.

The statement's signatories are Md Nahid Islam, Md Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, Md Abu Baker Majumder, Asif Mahmud, and Nusrat Tabassum.
