The metro rail service in Dhaka is set to resume regular operations on Sunday (Aug 25).
Md Zakaria, Additional Project Director (Electrical, Signal, and Telecommunication & Track) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), confirmed the matter today.
The trial run of the metro rail was conducted on Friday and continued on Saturday. No issues or faults were detected during these trials, paving the way for the resumption of passenger services according to the regular schedule from tomorrow, he said.
He added that the Managing Director of DMTCL, M. A. N. Siddique, will brief the media later in the day regarding the resumption of services.
The metro rail operations were halted on 18 July during the quota reform movement when a police box at Mirpur-10 was set on fire.
