The United States has renewed its call for thorough investigations into the deaths of civilians during recent protests and the government's response to them.

"We believe there must be comprehensive investigations into the civilians who lost their lives during the protests and the ensuing crackdown in recent months," said Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State.

During a press briefing on Monday, September 30, Miller also emphasized the need for full accountability for those responsible.

When asked about media-related concerns, the spokesperson stressed the importance of upholding press freedom, both in Bangladesh and globally.
