Members of the police, who did not return to their respective positions, will be brought to book shortly, said Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

He made the remark while talking to journalists at the Home Ministry on Tuesday (Oct 1).

Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, “We have taken initiative to appoint new members of the police force, within 2 or 3 days you will get notification regarding recruitment of Sub-Inspector.”

“The members who did not return to work will no longer be identified as police, instead they will be known as criminals”, added Mr. Jahangir.
