NARAYANGANJ: Two robbers were killed as angry mob beat them black and blue in Araihazar Upazila of the district on Monday night.

The deceased were identified as Moktar Hossain, 36, son of one Zaikka Mia, and Al Amin alias Attu Mia, 38, son of one Shaheed Mia of the upazila.

Sources said that a gang of robbers took preparation to commit a robbery around 10:00pm in the area.

Sensing the presence of dacoits, locals chased and beat two of them to death while others managed to flee.

On information police rushed to the spot and opened blank fire to disperse the angry mob.

Araihazar Thana Officer-in-Charge Alamgir Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
