DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina categorically said that her government is implementing versatile initiatives to make police force modern and people-friendly and these step will be continued.

The primer was addressing a program on the occasion of Police week-2014 at Razarbagh police line on Thursday morning.

The Prime Minister said that some 30,800 posts including 614 cadre posts have been created in a bid to boost manpower in police forces.

Sheikh Hasina said that Industrial police bureau of investigation, tourist police, naval police and two security and production battalion had been formed, Sub-Inspector/Sergeant post were upgraded to second class from third class.

The ongoing initiative for modernization of the police force will be continued, PM said.

State Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hasan Mahmud Khandakar, Additional IGP AKM Shahidul Haque among others were present in function.
