Rain or thunder showers likely over next 5 days: BMD

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast dry weather with a partly cloudy sky across most parts of the country, while rain or thunder showers are expected in the coming days.

According to the latest bulletin issued this afternoon, isolated rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds are likely to occur at one or two locations in the Sylhet division over the next five days.

The Met office also predicted a slight rise in daytime temperatures, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged across the country.

A trough of low pressure lies over West Bengal and its surrounding areas, while a seasonal low persists over the South Bay, influencing weather patterns, the statement added.

Baghabari in Rajshahi recorded the highest temperature in the country at 36.1 degrees Celsius, while Rajarhat in Rangpur registered the lowest at 18.0 degrees Celsius.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:07 pm today and rise at 6:08 am tomorrow, according to the BMD forecast.
