DHAKA: A devastating fire broke out at Olympia Jhut Market in mill gate area of Tongi in city early Monday.

The cause of fire origination could not be known yet.

Witnesses said the blaze originated at 12:45am and instantly spread to adjacent area.

On information, five fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire after a three-hour frantic effort.  

In the meantime, the fire gutted 30-35 warehouses and burned down two cows.

Gazipur fire service Deputy Director Aktaruzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Gazipur Industrial Superintendent of Police (SP) Abul Khayer and Tongi Thana police visited the spot, a spot account said
