A mild heat wave is currently sweeping across several districts, including Moulvibazar, Chattogram, Rangamati, Feni, Cox's Bazar, Bandarban, and Patuakhali, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said today (April 14).
The heat wave may ease in some areas over the next 24 hours, according to the latest forecast issued at 9am.
The BMD also warned of isolated rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning and temporary gusty winds in parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.
Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
The highest temperature recorded on Sunday was 38.0°C in Rangamati and Sitakunda (Chattogram division), while the lowest was 18.6°C in Tetulia, Rangpur division.
