DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Shaheed Razu Day is being observed through placing floral wreaths at the Razu Memorial Sculpture set up at Road Island adjacent to Teacher Student Center (TSC) of Dhaka University.

To mark the day, left leaning parties have chalked out several programmes including placing wreaths, anti-terrorism procession, rally, photo exhibition, unveil of Razu mural painted at the wall of DU central Library.

Leaders of leftist parties including Chhatra Union paid tribute to Shaheed Razu at by placing wreath at the Razu Memorial Sculpture around 8:00am.

Besides, anti-terrorism procession and rally will be staged at Dhaka University campus around 11:00am.

Moreover, photo exhibition is underway at TSC Road Island from morning.

Later, Razu mural painted at the wall of DU central Library will be unveiled.

Earlier on March 13 in 1992, activists of Chhatra League and Chhatra Dal locked into a gunfight over establishing supremacy at the campus.

At one stage, Chhatra Union leader Moin Hossain Razu along with general students brought out a procession protesting the terrorist activities. Later, Chhatra Dal cadres allegedly opened fire at the procession, leaving Razu dead on the spot.
