DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Thursday rejected bail plea of Delwar Hossain, owner of Tazreen fashions over the devastating fire in the factory that killed 111 people.

Besides, the court also fixed March 20 for passing order on bail plea of Mahmuda Akhter, wife of Delwar Hossain.

Dhaka district and session judge Abdul Mojid passed the order after hearing.

Advocate Kazi Nojibullah Hero moved for the accused while district PP Khondaker Abdul Mannan stood for the state.

On February 12, a petition was filed with Dhaka district and session judge challenging the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court order that granting bail to the two accused on February 10.

On December 22, CID police inspector Mohosin Uzzaman submitted charge sheet against 13 people including Delwar and his wife over the tragic incident in Tazreen Fashions.

Earlier on November 24 in 2012, 111 people were burnt alive and 104 people injured in a fire at Tazreen Fashions Limited.
