Bangladesh Railway (BR) has started selling advance tickets for homebound passengers on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
Director General of BR Md Afzal Hossain said that all advance train tickets are being sold online. However, unsold tickets will be available at the counter during the final period.
To ensure smooth journeys, five pairs of special trains will run during the Eid rush. Return tickets will go on sale from 30 May.
Ticket sales began today for western zone trains at 8 am and for eastern zone trains at 2 pm. Around 33,315 seats are available on 43 intercity trains from Dhaka.
Each passenger can buy up to four tickets per user ID. Additionally, 25% standing tickets will be sold from counters.
All intercity train weekly holidays are suspended from 3 June until Eid, which is likely on 7 or 8 June. No intercity trains will operate on Eid day.
