Breaking from the traditional format, the interim government is set to present a different kind of national budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2025–26.

Interim Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed will announce the proposed budget of Tk 7.9 trillion on Monday (June 2) at 3:00pm, according to sources at the Ministry of Finance.

For the first time, the national budget will be presented live from the studio of Bangladesh Television (BTV). 

This marks both Dr Ahmed’s first budget as finance adviser and the first budget of the interim government.
