DHAKA: Prior to the electricity price hike, necessary measures should be taken to reduce illegal power connections and stealing and curb corruption at the offices of power distributing companies, said Mohammad Belal Hossain, a private-service holder at Chittagong .
Belal came up with the comment participating at the banglanews’ “What do you think about power price hike?” titled Public Opinion program on Wednesday noon.
By increasing the price hike, problems would not be resolved, if these bad activities could not be brought to an end, otherwise the price would also increase in future, he said.
He called upon the consumers to be honest and aware on the electricity usages saying that it was indispensable for the journalists or the media to be more sincere to stop the eccentricity stealing and the irregularities (in the sector).
Corruption would be lessened, if the responsible at the concerned ministries brought to book and Power price would be stable too.
He demanded the elimination of incorporation among the concerned offices as soon as possible.
