DHAKA: Bangladesh Navy did not find the Malaysian missing plane in the Bangladesh maritime area of Bay of Bengal in their five-day long frantic search.
Three ships of Bangladesh Navy have searched 87,059 squire kilometer areas by dividing eight blocks.
These were disclosed in a press conference at Navy headquarters in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Director (Naval Operation) Commodore S M Hakim and Naval Detective Commodore M Rashed Ali have presented the details of the search operation of the Malaysian plane.
M Hakim said after the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s directive three navy ships Omar Farooque, Bangabandhu and Samudra Joy started the searching operation in the Bay of Bengal and land side from March 15.
The Malaysia airlines jet disappeared on March 8 with 239 people on board after taking off from Kuala Lumpur-bound for Beijing. Investigators say it was deliberately diverted off course.
Twenty-six countries are now helping to hunt for the plane after satellite and military radar data projected two huge corridors through which it might have flown.
