Police have recovered the hanging body of a young housewife from Fatikchhari upazila in Chattogram.

The deceased was identified as Tasnuba Akter Chandni, 18, wife of Saifuddin, a resident of the same house.

The body was found on Thursday night (June 12) at the Badu Talukdar residence in Paindong Union of the upazila.

Following the incident, her husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law have gone into hiding, according to police.

Fatikchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nur Ahmed told Banglanews that the body was sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

"Although it initially appears to be a case of suicide, nothing can be confirmed until the autopsy report is available," the OC said, adding that a detailed investigation is underway.
