COMILLA: Train communication of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet restored on Friday noon after a two and half hours suspension due to derailment of a compartment of an inter-city train.
Earlier, four wheels of the last compartment of the Chittagong-bound Jalalabad Express train veered off the track in Bijupur area of the district at 10:00am, said Laksham railway Officer-in-charge Abdus Sattar.
He said a relief train from Akhaura rushed the spot at 12:00pm and cleared the track.
Comilla railway assistant engineer Irfanul Islam told banglanews that the train service of Dhaka-Chittagong and Chittagong-Sylhet routes resumed after completion of rescue work.
