Seek apology to the nation

DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) urged acting Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mobarak to seek apology to the nation for the remark on the party.

Party’s Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the assertion while addressing a press conference at BNP central office in city’s Nayapaltan area on Monday noon.

Rizvi said, “We are expressing intense protest and condemnation on the remark of the acting Chief Election Commissioner and expecting that they will withdraw the speech and apologies to nation immediately”.

Earlier, indicating BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Acting Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mobarak said, “We might be zero but her (Khaleda) party is taking part in the upazila polls under the incumbent EC.”
