Domestic help found dead in city

DHAKA: A domestic help was found dead at the resident of a Crime Investigation Department (CID) officer in city’s Rampura area on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Ambia Khatun, 16, daughter of Alim Uddin, hailed from Pabna district.

The householder Jahangir Alam is an Inspector of CID who is currently performing his duty in Bogra.

CID Officer Jahangir’s wife Selina Parvin claimed that Ambia committed suicide by hanging herself with her scarf from the shower stand of the bathroom on Sunday. Ambia was used to working at the home as a helping hand for last ten months, she added.

However, Ambia was rushed to a local hospital on Sunday night where on duty doctor declared her dead.

Later on Monday around 12:20pm, police recovered the body from their residence and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Sub-Inspector of Rampura Thana Mojammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
