A flight carrying renowned Bangladeshi photographer and activist Shahidul Alam departed from Israel this afternoon, marking his release from detention.
According to a statement from the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing, the TK 6921 flight is scheduled to land in Istanbul around 2:30pm local time.
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus expressed gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Turkish government for their active cooperation in facilitating Alam’s release and repatriation.
Shahidul Alam’s detention in Israel had drawn international attention, prompting diplomatic efforts led by Bangladesh with support from Turkey to secure his freedom.
