CHITTAGONG: Customs intelligence officials seized 16 gold bars, weighing 1.86 kg and worth around Tk 80 lakh, from a passenger of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Shah Amanat International Airport Wednesday.                         
 
They also detained the passenger, Azizul Munir Mahfuz, who hails from Fatikchhari upazila of the district.     

Dubai expatriate Mahfuz was going to Dhaka on a flight of Bangladesh Biman around 10:30am.  

Customs intelligence and investigate directorate assistant director Nahid Nawsahd Mukul confirmed the matter to banglanews.
