DHAKA: Gonojagoron Mancha spokesman Dr. Imran H Sarkar has expressed his surprise at the announcement of a group that he had been suspended from the responsibility of spokesman of the Mancha.

“Neither any individual nor any party or organization has the right to relieve me from the responsibility of the spokesman,” he told journalists after the announcement of the group.

“Gonojagoron Mancha was outcome of spontaneous upsurge of people. The Mancha is a neutral platform,” he said.

Imran urged people not to be confused by any propaganda of any ill-motivated group or individuals.

He called upon people to carry on the current movement for death sentence of all war criminals.

Dr Imran appeared before the media after a group who claimed themselves as “Activists and Organizers of Gonojagoron Mancha” announced that Imran has been suspended as “his recent activities becamce controversial”.

“His (Imran’s) statement, from now on, will not be considered as statement of the Gonojagoron Mancha,” said their announcement made at a press conference at capital’s Shahbagh.

Kamal Pasha, who claimed himself as an organizer of the Mancha, read out a written statement at the press conference.

Pasha informed that a five-memebr panel will be formed soon and the panel members will discharge the responsibilities as spokespersons.

Also present at the press conference were FM Shaheen, Abir Ghosh and Habibullah Mesbah who also claimed themselves as organizers of the Gonojagornon Mancha.
