NARAYANGANJ: Police said the kidnappers of Abu Bakar Siddique, husband of Bangladesh Environment Lawyers Association (Bela) Chief Executive Syeda Rizwana Hasan, were highly trained and the abduction was a pre-planned one.
District Superintendent of Police (SP) Syed Nazrul Islam came up with the assertions at a press briefing at the office of the District police around 11:00am.
Nazarul said, “An abduction case was filed on April 16 and the victim (AB Siddique) will be placed before court following the case, he will be taken to Shamim Fasion then”.
Later, AB Siddique will be handed over to his family after maintaining all formalities.
In reply to question, the SP said, “The investigation will go on in systematic way. Motives of the kidnapping can not be disclosed for the sake of the investigation.”
“On Thursday midnight, AB Siddique was going to his residence by CNG run-auto rickshaw. Then a constable of Dhanmandi Thana stopped the auto rickshaw and informed me,” Nazrul added.
Allude to a group of miscreants abducted AB Siddique in front of the Bhuiyan Filling Station in Fatulla area of Narayanganj district on Wednesday.
Later Rizwana filed a case with Fatulla Model Thana in this connection.
