DHAKA: Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Thursday said no opportunity will be given to invest the black money in the upcoming budget for the fiscal year 2014-2015.
The minister came up with the remarks while addressing the 35th meeting of the advisory committee of National Board of Revenue (NBR) as the chief guest at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city in the morning.
The meeting began at 10:00am, is discussing on some 617 proposals placed by Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
Of the proposals, 172 are on income tax while the rest cover others taxes, value added tax (VAT) and import duty fees.
FBCCI recommended for increasing the tax free personal income from TK 2.2¬-lakh to TK 2.5-lakh and keeping the minimum tax limit at 3,000.
Presided over by FBCCI president Kazi Akramuddin, State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan attended the meeting as the special guest.
NBR and FBCCI are jointly organized the meeting in association with Islami Bank Bangladesh, Exim Bank and National Credit and Commerce Bank.
