CHITTAGONG: A readymade garment factory, four houses and a rickshaw garage were gutted in two separate fire incidents in the port city early Friday.

Fire Services and Civil Defenses control room operator Biswantor Barua told banglanews that the fire originated from an electric short circuit around 2:45am at Fashion Park International Limited in Chalk Bazar area. 

On information, two fire fighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after one and half an hour efforts. 

Biswantor Barua also said that four houses were burnt into ashes when a fire originated at adjacent rickshaw garage from electric short circuit around 6:40am.  

Later, two fire fighting units doused the blaze around 8:10am.

The fire incidents damaged assets worth over Tk 9-lakh.
