Fire at moving train in city

DHAKA: Fire broke out at three compartments of a moving train at city’s cantonment area on Tuesday noon.

Seven fire fighting units rushed to the spot and trying to douse the fire.

Train attendant Sadek said that the fire originated from a gas cylinder at the train’s canteen around 1:30pm.

Sources said that Dhaka-bound Kalni Express left Sylhet station around 7:20am and when it reached Dhaka cantonment area the fire broke out in the running train.

Confirming the matter Bangladesh Railway AD (Operation) Saidur Rahman told banglanews, “Becoming panicked all the passengers left the train quickly and luggage and goods of the passengers burnt into ashes”.
