DHAKA: At least five people, including a minor, were killed in lightning and storm in four districts across the country on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Mahfuz, 5, son of one Tuku Miah, resident of Hamerdi village under Bhanga upazila of Faridpur; Zarina Begum, 50, wife of one late Hayat Ali and her daughter Asma Akhter, 25, hailed from Bangaon under Bhaluka upazila of Mymensing; Jahura Begum, 45, wife of one Kashem Munsi, from Charkumaria village under Sadarpur upazila of Faridpur and Ramjan Ali, 32, son of one Jabbar Ali, from Dakkhin Gopalpur village under Gopalpur upazila of Tangail district.

In Faridpur, a five-year old kid died when a tree fell down upon their house in the evening during the storm.

In Mymensingh, a mother and her daughter were killed and two others injured as lightning struck them in Bhaluka upazila.

In Faridpur, lightning killed another woman, Jahura Begum, while she was cooking in Sadarpur upazila.

In Tangail, Ramjan Ali died at the premises of his house in a lightning struck.
