DHAKA: Four journalists from leading print and electronic media have received the UNESCO-Bangladesh Journalism Award-2014 in three categories on Saturday noon.
The award recipients are Haydar Ali of the Kalerkantho and Muhammad Joynal Abedin in newspaper category, Ashikur Rahman Chowdhury in television category and Kajal Hazra in photography category.
Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu handed over the prizes with a crest and cash money among the award winners at National Press Club in the city around 12:30pm.
UNESCO-Bangladesh and Bangladesh Center for Development Journalist and Communication (BCDJC) jointly arranged the award giving programme.
With Dr. Golam Rahman, Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism of Dhaka University, in the chair and UNESCO Bangladesh Officer in-charge Kiti Vaishu delivered their speech in the program.
