PARBATIPUR, DINAJPUR: A Dinajpur court on Wednesday sentenced 12 accused to rigorous life imprisonment for their involvement in a sensational double murder in Parbatipur upazila.

Additional Session Judge-3 M Nur Islam passed the order in the afternoon.

Five of the convicts are fugitive.

Sources from the court said that those 12 persons chopped and strangled to death to one Mantu Basfor and Rajon Basfor on July 6, 2000.

Rajkumar, father of Mantu, filed a lawsuit against the 12 with Parbatipur GRP Thana the following day.
