MUNSHIGANJ: A youth was shot dead by robbers in Shekhernagar Bazar area under Sirajdikhan upazila of the district on Monday morning.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. 

Sources said that some 15/20 robbers started looting the houses in the area around 3:30am. Then dacoits opened fire aiming the youth as he barred them to commit robbery, leaving him dead on the spot.

Later, locals informed the police station and police recovered the body. 

Meanwhile, police detained a suspected dacoit from the spot.

Sirajdikhan Thana Officer-in-Charge Abul Basar confirmed the matter to banglanews.
