JHALKATI: Two motorcyclists including a child were killed and two others injured as a BRTC bus ran over them at Nalchhiti upazila of the district on Tuesday night. 

One deceased is motorcyclist Shahidul Islam, son of Nur Hossain of Krishnakathi area of Jhalkati town. 

Police Super M Majid Ali said that a BRTC bus was going to Barisal from Matbaria. When it reached at Bhoirobpasha area of Barisal-Jhalkati road, it ran over a motorcycle coming from opposite direction, leaving two dead on the spot and injured deceased kid’s parents.   

Injured were rushed to a local hospital. 

Following the incident agitated locals vandalized the bus and blocked the road. 

Deputy commissioner Shakhawat Hossain brought the situation under control by giving assurance to bring the killers to book.
