DHAKA: Chittagong City Corporation’s newly elected mayor M Manjur Alam took oath Sunday morning.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina administered the oath at her office at 10am.   

Manjur is scheduled to visit the grave of BNP founder President Ziaur Rahman at 4pm.

He is likely to meet BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in the evening.

Chittagong City BNP-backed M Manjur Alam clinched as mayor defeating ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, three times mayor and AL- backed mayoral candidate, in Corporation’s mayoral race on 17 June.
