DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Benzir Ahmed on Monday categorically said they would file attempt to murder cases against those involved in mixing formalin in the food items.
The city police chief came up with the assertion in a discussion meeting on the occasion of International Blood Donation Day and Anti-drugs Movement, arranged by Stamford College in city in the afternoon.
Indicating the businessmen, DMP commissioner said, “Do not use formalin in the food items. We will be compelled to file attempt to murder cases against you if you use formalin.”
He also warned the persons involved in importing formalin illegally saying to file attempt to murder cases against them also.
With deputy commissioner of Ramna Zone of DMP Maruf Hossain in the chair, the function was attended, among others, by Vice Chancellor of Stamford University Dr MA Firoz, DMP deputy commissioner (headquarters) Anwar Hossain and university trustee board members.
